I was surprised to see a complete set go for so much, sometimes $300! I didn't fetch a complete set but did find two cars with all the parts.
They're two of the coolest cars ever - a Chevy Nomad and a Ford Fairlane. The doors, hood, trunk and wheels fly off so I thought he might enjoy putting them back together. As I ran them down the hall this evening I could tell he'd get happy when they'd hit stuff and make a loud "smack!" Hopefully he'll like these, otherwise they're just a trophy of my childhood. Will likes puzzles and in a way these are. I remember seeing them smash and all the pieces flying off all over the kitchen floor. I can't remember, but it was either a birthday or Christmas present. Mom said she had people in other states looking for these things. I happened to see this commercial one day and had to have my own. I was always excited to go the junk yard, which I did on rare occasions with my Dad. As a child I would dream of cars smashing into each other and preferred a wrecked car over a new one. I got these for Will after remembering them from my childhood.
